CUTTIN COVEYS KENNELS – PUPPY CONTRACT & PURCHASE AGREEMENT

This agreement is made between Cuttin Coveys Kennels (hereinafter referred to as “Breeder”) and the undersigned Puppy Buyer.

SECTION 1: PURCHASE OPTIONS

The Puppy Buyer agrees to purchase one German Shorthaired Pointer puppy bred by Cuttin Coveys Kennels under one of the following options:

🔹 OPTION 1 – Standard Contract

• Price: $1,500
  
  

• Deposit: $300 (non-refundable, applied to balance)
  
  

• Kennel Name Required: YES (“Cuttin Coveys” prefix)

• Best suited for homes looking for your typical hunting dog, do not plan on breeding, and looking for a hunting companion
  
  

Breeding Requirements:

• Females must be:
  • Health screened (hips + genetic panel)
  • Earn a title (Hunt Test or Field Trial) or be an elite wild bird dog (breeder's discretion)
  
  

• Males are encouraged to earn titles before breeding
  
  

Performance Incentives:

• JH / Puppy / Derby placement → $100 training credit
  
  

• SH / broke dog placement → $150 training credit
  
  

• Full puppy price refunded for finished dogs run through CCK’s broke-dog program
  
  

• Dogs are not required to test or trial, but participation is encouraged
  
  
  

Hunting Requirement:

• Minimum of 10 hunt days per year (wild or preserve)
  
  

🔹 OPTION 2 – Field Trial Contract

• Price: $1,000
  
  

• Deposit: $300 (non-refundable)
  
  

• Kennel Name Required: YES
  
  

Includes:

• Reserved spot in Cuttin Coveys Kennels’ Field Trial Training Program
  
  

• Direct support and handling through CCK encouraged
  
  

Same Incentives as Option 1:

• $100 credit for JH / Puppy / Derby
  
  

• $150 credit for SH / Gun Dog / All-Age
  
  

• Full puppy price refunded for broke-dog finished through CCK
  
  

• 10-hunt minimum per year
  
  

Purpose:
Discounted price in exchange for owner’s commitment to development and potential titling of the dog.

🔹 OPTION 3 – Outright Purchase (No Restrictions)

• Price: $3,000
  
  

• Deposit: $500
  
  

• Kennel Name Required: NO
  
  

• Breeding Restrictions: NONE
  
  

• Performance Requirements: NONE
  
  

• Incentives: NONE
  
  

Important Note on Genetics:
Our dogs are bred from select, proven field trial and wild bird bloodlines, representing years of investment in health, temperament, and performance. Puppies purchased outright are sold at a premium to reflect the value of these genetics, the loss of kennel representation, and the release of all oversight.

SECTION 2: PAYMENT TERMS

• Deposits are non-refundable but transferable to a future litter if the preferred gender is unavailable.
  
  

• Balance due at pickup between 7–8 weeks of age.
  
  

• Puppies not picked up by 8 weeks will incur a $25/day boarding fee.
  
  

• All shipping or transport expenses are the responsibility of the Buyer.
  
  

SECTION 3: HEALTH GUARANTEE

• Puppy is guaranteed healthy at pickup and has received its first vaccination.
  
  

• Buyer must have puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 5 days of pickup.
  
  

• If puppy is deemed unhealthy within this period, Breeder will either:
  • Provide a full refund upon return of puppy and vet documentation, or
  • Replace the puppy from a future litter (at Breeder’s discretion).
  
  

• Puppy is guaranteed against hereditary crippling defects visible by 24 months. If such a defect is diagnosed and verified:
  • Buyer may return puppy for a refund or replacement from a future litter.
  
  

• This guarantee is void if puppy is spayed/neutered before 24 months of age.
  
  

• Minor/correctable conditions or issues due to neglect are not covered.
  
  

SECTION 4: BREEDER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Register litter with AKC (limited registration unless otherwise agreed).
  
  

• Provide AKC registration packet for individual puppy.
  
  

• Provide first vaccinations and veterinary health check.
  
  

• Dock tails (50–55%) and remove dew claws.
  
  

SECTION 5: BUYER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Select and abide by purchase option (1, 2, or 3).
  
  

• Register puppy with AKC under “Cuttin Coveys” kennel name unless purchased under Option 3.
  
  

• Maintain puppy in good health with vaccinations, parasite prevention, and veterinary care.
  
  

• Provide a safe home environment, including inclusion as a family companion.
  
  

• If unable to keep the puppy, Breeder has the first right of refusal (Option 1 & 2 only).
  
  

SECTION 6: RELEASE OF LIABILITY

From the date of transfer, Puppy Buyer assumes full responsibility and liability for the puppy’s actions and care. Breeder is released from all future claims or liability.
